Abstract

The uncontrolled population growth and unbalanced expansion of cities in the last century has caused many environmental and physical problems, which has led to more emphasis by urban planners on the issue of healthy cities. In this regard, the present study aims to evaluate the indicators of a healthy city in the city of Rasht and then to examine the relationships between the indicators of a healthy city. The research method is descriptive-quantitative and 384 questionnaires have been distributed and completed among Rasht residents to collect information. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS software. To analyze the data, binomial tests, Pearson correlation and stepwise linear regression were used. The results of data analysis showed that the overall average of items is equal to 2.86, which indicates the unfavorable situation of healthy city indicators in Rasht. Also, based on the average of each indicator, except for the two indicators "housing quality" and "health and hygiene", the average of the other four indicators is below average and has an unfavorable situation in this city. Finally, it was found that the "managerial and organizational" index, which is a manifestation of urban management in this city, has the greatest impact and correlation on the health status of citizens.
