Abstract

Plac identity includes emotional belonging in which the person considers the place as one of his identity characteristics by creating an emotional relationship. One of the places that has a significant impact on human identity is his home. So, it can be expected that the house, if the conditions are met that lead to the formation of emotional belonging in man, also affect his place identity. Since the provision of human ideals evokes positive emotions in him, "paying attention to the ideals" in relation to place can also be considered as a basis for creating an emotional attachment to it. Different ideals in relation to the house, in the form of its essential components as a place, can be classified and identified.
So; this research purpose is promotion of place identity toward the home according to the both of the nature of belonging and the identification of home.
At this cross sectional study, 300 inhabitants were randomly selected from the residential areas in Ardabil, Iran, including: historical neighbors, modern settlements, and outskirts of the city. Then, structural equation modeling (SEM) and Amos22 were used to test hypotheses on complex variable relationships and gain new insights.
According to the findings, the adaptation of the house to some human ideals are effective in raising the level of place identity of residents towards the house. to enhance the residents' level of place identity toward home, the primary priority is to provide the necessary conditions for achieving satisfactory family relationships and, subsequently, ideal social status. Also, it is essential to ensure residents' functional satisfaction, for improving level of home conformity to their ideals in terms of family relationships and social status and, for this purpose, paying attention to home conformity to the ideals of the inhabitants in terms of spaciousness is important.
