The study of design thinking and its related variables has always been the focus of researchers. Design thinking is a mental and cognitive skill, and its most important result is the design thinking mentality. This research explains the mindset of design thinking based on information processing styles and critical thinking, and since increasing the power of design is one of the important goals of education in architecture; Therefore, there is a need to identify the factors related to the design process and especially the factors related to the designer. The method of the current research was of correlation type in the form of structural equation model. The statistical population of this research included the architectural students of Hamadan universities, who were selected as a sample in the available way. Research data were obtained from questionnaires of design thinking mentality, information processing styles, critical thinking and personality traits. The data were analyzed using statistical software. The findings showed that the conceptual model has a good fit; This means that based on the variables of critical thinking and information processing styles with the mediation of personality traits, the design thinking mindset model can be developed. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the mindset of design thinking cannot be without the influence of personality traits and cognitive ability . Also, personality traits of extroversion/introversion (focusing on the problem) and judgment/perception (person's orientation in the problem) directly and indirectly affected the mindset of the designer and had the highest averages compared to other types. They had personalities. Also, the styles of information processing and critical thinking were completely related to the mindset of design thinking. In this way, the mindset of design thinking is related to cognitive factors (information processing styles and critical thinking) and personality factors of the designer.
